I was planning to get up at 5.30 and be out on the water by 7.00... that idea got knock out of my head literally at 4.30 when my pregnant wife elbows me squarely between the eyes

. She is just into her 5th month and for the last week or two she has not slept well. I guess I can't complain... up until now she has had no problems what so ever.
Anyway I deal with the extra time on my hands and head out. I'm parked along the 101 by 6.15 waiting for enough light to walk down the rocks to the beach.... The surf is looking great 2-3 ft...no wind and a strong current. I take my down time to change from 1/2 to 3/4 oz sinker from the graylight you could see alot of surging going on.
I get to the beach and chuck out my ample piece of Bloody sandworm...solid hits left and right. By 3rd cast still nothing to show for it

. Then I get the slab of slabs. One hefty BSP! only to get off with the quick release.... Now this fish just does not get off and runs away, but he turns around and starts bitchin me out and cussing me for using "THE GULP" and "TAKING THE UNFAIR ADVANTAGE"
he' telling me " HE'S GONNA EXPOSE ME FOR THE CHEATER I AM"...I just laugh and flip him off...that was at 6.30.... at 8.30 i'm scratching my head, by9.30 I'm thinking WTF? At 9.35 I'm showing my license to the fish warden at 10.00 I'm showing my license to the 2nd fish warden... The dirty Bass-turd called the law on me. By 11.30 I had thrown everything in my arsenal.. wth only 3 dinks to show for it....I was contemplating using them for bait. At 11.45 I went for my hail mary and popped on a Cal swimbait and on the 5th cast "WHAM" but nothing to show but a missing tail.
After that the fat lady started to sing that familiar doomed tune.... and I started thinking to myself what could be better than rubbing the wife's belly, watchin football and drinking a cold beer on this great sunday afternoon

.
Bottom line....I threw everywhere in the surge, past the surge, in and around the rip, in and around the stalled areas... NADA. The fish were in the skinny water.. It was a flyrod type of surf. Wish I had brought mine
