made my way out to Long Beach yesterday looking for halibut. during high tide, started out fishing swimbaits in red with no luck for the first hour switch over to a gulp shad nail the first hali with in the first 30 min. after the change.
ended catching 3 total the sad part is they were all 21 inches so had to release.but never the less had a great fishing day. here's a pic of one.

here's the set up Gulp jerk shad in camo flavor with a 3/8 dart head ,lite 10lb. test . after reading a lot from some of the members articles on catching Halibut I believe that I do a lot better when I go lite on the set up lite line,lite dart head 3/8 pref. anyways hope this helps.
