Surf Perchin Hollywood Part 2 03/27/08

My wife wanted to go shopping so I got to go fishing. Tried to go last nite and got sandblasted, but caught two. Went back tonite. The wind died, the sun was warm, and the BIG perch were hot.

Another reason I went tonite was because I had just fixed one of my reels and wanted to test it out. As I hadn't fished in a while, I realized all my reels are 15 to 20 years old and needed a little work.

Anyway today's catch was 6 perch and one Yellowfin Croaker. Bringing the two day total to 9 fish. And no little dinks.

Tackle: Daiwa RS1305BL reel, 7' Abu Garcia Prostrike , 8# Berkley Sensation.

Bait: Carolina rig, started with 1.5" Strawberry glitter slider grub and stepped up to a 3" Strawberry with blue flake.

The fish in the second picture was the biggest yet. I measured it just shy of 14" and it was very thick.

Hollywood has cleaned up quite a bit. I tried it a couple of weeks ago and the water was almost black and no fish. Still some weeds floating around but water looks much better.
