Seaward Friday afternoon

Hit Seaward for a couple of hours Friday night. It was probably the toughest surf trip I have had in quiet a while. We fished for about 3 hours and three of us got the skunk. I only had one solid hit the whole time. I watched a few guys using live bait get a couple of solid hits but they had nothing to show for them. The water was very clear but there was a lot of salad in the water

paigow, myself over the years have never had very good luck from the pier to seaward. I dont even waste my time there anymore.

if your still searching for halibut, if you have read the reports throughout the years here they always seem to come from west facing calm beaches, such as the goleta, sb and down south malibu areas. Thats just the pattern I see.

Im sure youve heard about good butt bites behind the rudder room, shit I have yet to see it. Ive tried it many times too.

Head North man, well atleast I would like to, around butterfly beach, good reports out of there, I just cant find the time to head down there.

good luck P....

Perch are good down at Hollywood mostly BSP and some WSP. Hooked into a big fish that I couldn't bring in behind Rudder rm, line broke at hook knot after 20-25 minutes. Also caught Halibut (short),YFCs and a corbina. Heard people have been catching some Halis of the jetty. But, nothing like the SB area beaches.
