Santa Barbara 6-13

Decided to fish the incoming afternoon tide. Tide was about 2' and rising which is good for a certain Goleta spot. Got there to find two guys fishin in waders in the "A" spot and another guy contemplating in the lot. Didn't want to crowd the scene so headed back to SB. The wind had freshened so my only choice was a cove. Said cove was still pretty windy with nice color, kinda wsb green with strong blue edges. There has been lots of bait balls here lately, but not today. Water was warm and had a lot of salad. Was hoping to target flatty's, but too much junk for swimmies or km's. Soaked sc's on the outside for a good bsp bite. Got about 15 for 2 hours mostly dink to medium size. Getting them past the salad was like fishin bass in weeds.

Had a 25 lb outfit in my car so I put half a bsp on it and soked it out deeper on a dropper loop hopin for shark fun. Saw the soaker go bendo and ran over only to fall on my a$$ and get there just in time to get busted off on a mussle covered rock . Oh well. Also lost two rigs casting out couldn't find a nick in my guides, but something is breaking me off. Headin out again today.

Don't you hate that when you set your rod down to do something and turn around to see it in full bent rod mode grab it and nothing.

Charlie I sure do man, seems to happen too often. I love the braid for a lot of things, but it doesn't like rocks.
