County Line Report

I hit the Ventura SB County line this morning for a little surf action. Great conditions. Water was clear. Not a lot of salad. At high tide we were getting small perch every other cast. As the tide went out it slowed down considerably. We did see three large Corbina. There were a few sand-crabs. I tried sc for Corbina or perch but I could not get a bite. I have never seen gulp out fish sc. I did have two hits on gulp were the fish took half of my worm. I wonder if that was Corbina? Anybody have luck for Corbina on gulp? Around 11:00 AM we moved to La Conchita. I got a couple of fish but overall it was slow. Have a good Fathers Day!! Paigow

Hey C, to answer your question I have gotten a few Corbinas on the Bloody Sandworm, and once on a 3" Kalin motor oil and red fleck, on a #1 hook no less. Justs go to show you when they are hungry they will bite anything. Cali Bear

Thanks for the report. Were you in the cove at Rincon? Saw a couple guys in Hobie kayaks and was wondering how they did. I have caught a few beans off the sand worms, but not as many as on grubs.

Never caught a corbina on a sandworm, but there's always a first. Good job out there
