Fished south of SB today from 9:30 to 11:00. Checked a spot in town and there was a guy fishing and another guy just showing up so i decided to head south. Next beach looked good from the road, but when I got to the cliff I could see a solid line of salad so no go. Next beach usually has people fishing, but today I had it by myself. Small surf with little to no wind and a fair bit of salad. There were tons of hard shells in all sizes and quite a few softies just not big enough to hook.
Conditions
There wasn't much structure other than some troughs that could work at high tide, so I mainly fished the rips. There were some steep zones filled with crabs that looked great for beans, but I never saw one. Fished crig 1/2 oz. with hard shells for an ok perch bite from dink to medium. Switched to a 1/2oz. KM in gold rainbow and got hit right away. Turned out to be a small YFC. Fished for another 30 min and got one more same size and farmed two that felt like croakers. Beautiful morning.
