Santa Clause/Bates

Did a little dawn patrol this morning. Started at Santa Clause Lane. It was the first time I fished SC. We only got a couple of small BSP. From there we went to Bates. Conditions were good. Water was clear, but I think that it has cooled down a bit. There was not much salad. Unfortunately there was also not a lot of fish. Four of us managed about 12 BSP. They were small for the most part.
I tried a new bait today. They were a live worm that looks like a bloodworm. They are imported to the US. I picked them up at Eric's yesterday. I caught a couple of fish on them but they did not seem to outfish the gulp. Has anybody else tried them?

I've seen those baits at Erics. I think he sells quite a few of them. The price kept me away tho. You did get bit on them. Did you fish the whole worm or half?

I cut them about 6 to 7 times. They are very long and very active and they smell bad.
