Cool Abalone dive at stillwater cove

Dove this weekend at stillwater cove by fort ross when i arrived there in the early sat. morn. the weather was beautiful but the kelp was covering all the best dive areas. But i went for it haveing to dive under the kelp 25' to 30' then back out, probably some of the toughest diveing i have done. visability was very poor also. took about a hour to get three abs. On the way in i speard some large perch.

Nice job. I plan on getting out there again as soon as the tides are nice and low. Prolly not until next year, but you never can be sure about these things.

Just a word of caution! i just heard that someone drowned sat. near stillwater cove about one hour after i left pretty scary, he got caught in the kelp and friends could'nt get to him in time. I did'nt dive sun. because the kelp is so bad and i alreAdy used to much energy on sat. BE CAREFUL THERES ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!
