Ok guys here is my report for this week of surf fishing. I was able to get out on Monday and again Thursday. Monday i hit Playa Del Rey for about an hour and a half of surf fishing. Had light spining gear with me rhino spinner on rhino 6'6 pole cheapy 8# test on it. got to the beach and it was low tide but the water was clear and very warm i almost wanted to go for a swim...lol. i started fishing the left side of this little jetty/structure as it was a bit more clam than the right side. i was using 1/2 carolina rig witha 3 inch piece of a GULP! sandworm. i toseed for about 20 mins for nothing lost bait once and decided to switch to the right side of the structure where i have caught fish. caught a tin perch on just a hook and weight and a YFC on a GULP! it was dark and getting cold so i left.

Thursday night best night out there for me so far. I took out my 13 foot match stick and put my bantam 50 on it and headed to Playa Del Rey. rigged up a 1/2 oz egg sinker carolina rig with a 3 inch peice of a GULP! on a 4 mosquito hook. i tossed out and instant hookup i thought it was current but no i pulled in a nice little perch lip hooked and 3/4 of a pound took the hook out thanked it for playing with me and sent it back in the water for another day. checked the bait and sent it back out a few time of this and bam FISH ON again another nice perch this one was about 1 pound lip hooked so again took the hook out and sent it on it way. rehooked my bait and sent it out and BAM i get hit hard and it s taking line i am like what is this so i put the breakes on set the hook and reel in heavy but no real fight reel it only to find i have set the hook hard on a fat piece of KELP!!! untagle the kelp and cast back out andi get hit hard again this time i know its a fish bring it in and its the biggest perch i'd catch 1.5 pounds swallowed the hook i was like no wonder you are a fatty you eat everything lol took me a minute to get the hook out but i manged to get it out and sent it on its way. new bait on its way into the sure it went caught some more KELP!!! i kept at it for a bit longer and caught 2 more perch one swalloed and last one gut hooked both were in the .5 to .75 pound range. ended the night when i borke off with a huge piece of EKLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all in all i had a blast out there was fishing for maybe 45 minutes. I am surf fishing in Santa Monica tomorrow at the SM fishfest anyone want to join post here or pm me sorry its late notice but i didn't know about it until yesterday. it starts at 6 am til about 10 am.

sorry no pics guys but we all know what perch look like if you don't head to you local beach with a some light gear pick up some GULP! baits and you will shortly find out what the look like!!!!
