6:45 AM, got a call from Thresher instead of me calling him and we headed out to Malibu 20 min later. started working the beach w/ plastics. he was using a 3.5 inch fish trap in chovie with a tandem motoroil grub and i was using the 3 inch storm live anchovie. woked the north side of the pier near the rocks for a few taps here and there and one perch lost. walked down to the south side, couldnt fish the point because of a surfing competition so we just worked the little area right after the pier near the houses. finally, i hook up and land a short hali. decided to pack it up and head out to sunset behind the 76 station behind gladstones. a few people fishing of the short little jetty getting some butterlip perch. other than that stayed for 20 min for nothing. it was FULL ON red tide so we decided to head home and get some PHO!!! anyway great day out on the water

Sorry for dragging you out there for the crappy fishing. Next time
we'll time the tides a bit better, and hope that red crud moves out.

FishinFanatic03,

Nice job on the short halibut. Sorry to hear the red tide was so bad for you guys, but hopefully it will clear up soon. Thanks for the report and picture too.
