La Conchita

I got out of the house and did a little surf fishing Saturday. I fished near La Conchita. I started around 800am and fishing was a little slow. I changed up my approach (longer leader, much slower retrieve, lighter weight) and the fishing took off. From around 1100 to 1200 (when I had to leave) the fishing was wide open. I was getting a perch on every second cast, All my fish came on gulp camo worms. I tried the sand crabs again with no luck.

Good going,,,,, how was the water ? Farther north by Carpinteria the water has a brownish red tint to it.

It was a good mix of size. I got four larger fish and a bunch of smaller ones. The water was not bad. It was a little off color but not bad.

Sounds like fun. La Conchita is a great place to fish.

Thanks for the report. It looks like the perch are on fire all over, up and down the California coast.

Thats it, i'm hitting the sand this week!
