7/27/2003 Power Plant Get-Together

Date: Sunday, July 27, 2003


Time: 9:00AM till the last fisherman leaves


Place: Oxnard / Mandalay Power Plant (by 5th Street)


Important Must Have Items: Fishing License, Sun Screen, Rod & Reel, Tackle, Bait, Drinking Water, etc.


Specifics: Looks like I could still use a few. Here is what I know so far, the plan is for is to converge at 9:00AM on Sunday, July 27, 2003 at the Oxnard / Mandalay Power Plant by 5th Street to cause some hate and discontent on the local fish population, hopes are high that we all get to tug on some fish together, meet and greet and have an all round GREAT TIME.


Seems as though everyone is bringing something along with their own choice of weapons, I am changing my mind and thinking of going with just two setups; 1) Seeker 8.5' Casting Rod w/Calcutta 400 Reel - 15# P-Line & 2) B&M 10' Spinning Crappie Pole w/Stradic 2500FH Reel - 4# Fireline. I will also bring some tackle and bait (Chovies and Squid), two sand spikes, a chair and camera.


Questions:
<ADDRESS>1) Where are we meeting at or do we just head out to the beach?</ADDRESS>
<ADDRESS>2) What part of the beach are we fishing?</ADDRESS>
<ADDRESS>3) Due to some recent vandalism where are we planning on parking? (to bad we just can't drive out onto the beach - Joeys truck and mine would make it).</ADDRESS>
<ADDRESS>4) Who all is attending?</ADDRESS>

1) Just heading out to the beach sounds good. Some of us may be late, and some (me) will be early.


2) Ive found that directly in front of the power plant is best, but all along that beach is good fishing.


3) I plan on parking in front of the gate (hopefully I dont get into another scrap with it[img]smileys/smiley18.gif[/img]).


4) And of course the Flip'ster will be attending! [img]smileys/smiley14.gif[/img]


..........It should be alot of fun!

Ya beat me to it (thank god) I am coming,I think. Parking ,um park at your own risk. Why don't we all just head out to the beach. fish what ever part of the beach is left when you get there. Look for a father and son team the son(me) will be fly fishing and the father will be sleeping[img]smileys/smiley12.gif[/img]

I am going to try and make it out there. Can't say for sure that I'll be there but Im definetly going to try. It really depends on how much unpacking I get done this week.
