After coming back from my 5 day vacation in San Diego and no success there (2 dinky perch at
Silver Strand Beach and Imperial Beach), I decided to hit up Santa Claus Lane for some surf fishing. I got to the water at 7 am. I tried to find sand crabs not many so I used GSWC most of the time. The surf was nice and steady, the water was clear until about high tide then suddenly there was a ton of salad. Bites were constant until about high tide and died down. I ended up with 10 or so perch. One was about 10 inches and the other ones were smaller. I didn't see any corbina but I did get to see dolphins playing so close to shore. I left at 10AM. Not too bad
Hopefully tomorrow I will fish with my brother in Oxnard Shores 5th St and have better luck.
