Welcome to the site Dennis. I hope you do well out there. I tried that spot earlier this summer with little success, so find out the tricks to the site and post up the results.

carp report
Launched at carp today with some fairly big swells coming in. Had one medium sized wave break right on my deck, a cold slap in the chest to wake me right up. Loads of bait in the water. I made 2 small macks immediately. Paddled out to the kelp in about 27 feet of water. Huge kelp bed out there. Lots of bait, birds crashing, dolphins swimming past. Then the wind really kicked in, seemed to be from the south so i was very carefull. I decided to head home. Waited a long time to time the landing and paddled right onto the sand. I will be back next week after the seas calm down.It looks like a very fishy area. Gracias, Dennis

I've been out there before, but not to fish. Seems like a good place for bass. Would've been an easier launch on Monday. Thanks for the report.

You are a brave man to go out in waves like that. Great effort, but for some reason, you do have to work for the bite there. I never caught bass when I was there, but I hooked a #80+ bat ray right off the beach that dragged me all the way out to the kelp before I broke him off.
