That's one of the fun parts for me Jeff, fishing somewhere that I have no experience, and seeing how your skills hold against the locals.
I fished the bass division at last years kayaksportfishing tournament in Dana, never fished there before but was able to weigh in some fish.
La Jolla and Dana are typical saltwater bassin.

The 4 bay events may be tough, freshwater bass experience is a big plus there. Points, docks, pilings, bridges, structure, grass=spinnerbaits, crankbaits, dropshot...you get the picture. Kinda like saying there's tons of Calico's and Sandies in Ventura a CI Harbor, now go get them, they're there..it just takes a little more skill to get them.

This tournament series is big enough that it will draw out hot sticks of all sorts. It'll kill me to just read about it in WON, I want to be there n see how I measure up!

I agree with you completely. That's why I'm doing the pre fish on the 10th. There's alot of locals to learn something from but they won't be telling all their secrets. Nothing beats getting on the water and learning. It will be a great tournament.

This is looking like a great series....i would have a hard time focusing on calicos in July in the La Jolla kelp while the yellows are going stupid 500 yards to the west!

Good luck in the series MJ....take out Easton and I'll be thoroughly impressed.

Ok, time to peak some more interest.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Overal angler of the year $2500
Biggest bass of the series $500 bonus
Event payout guaranteed at $1000 for first place..depending on # of participants first place range is $1000-$2000.
Jackpot bass for each event is $800-$2000!
Simply put win an event and catch the biggest bass of the day and you're looking at an $1800-$4000 payday!!!!!! Now imagine doing that in a couple events!!!!!
