3 hour window of no wind

The reports say that the wind direction will change in the afternoon- giving a small window of calmness. We're going to check it out. Come by if you're in the neighborhood. (Leo Carillo).

What an excellent plan of attack. I wish I did the same. Instead I launched early this morning. Paddled around, and decided to head in. I must have been out for maybe a half hour. Too much Santa Ana.

Leo

I fished it in the morning. 7:30-10AM. The wind was gusting enough to make me a bit nervous about fishing too deep. So I set up short drifts and worked the plastic. Ended up with two smallish calicos in about 15ft of water. On the last drift I got picked up near some kelp and got smoked on 10# and quickly broken off as soon as I applied some presure....hate those mystery fish.

Always nice to fish where the hills aren't covered with houses....
