I just came back from today's session.
The waves were small but the intervals were short.
I thought I timed it right, but was off. Took one to the face.
With my new waders and wind breaker, I stayed dry beneath.
Paddled past the breaks and started to set up. Next thing I know, the current and wind pushed me quite a bit north and the fog rolled in. I could no longer see shore. "Where am I"?
As I started to go to Deep Hole, the ripping current pushed my jigs far away. Too difficult to fish vertical. So I went to Leo's kelp bed. This is the thickest I have ever seen the kelp beds.
The wind made things challenging. Not white cap wind just a little below. With the fog, a constant mist was spraying in my face. Dress warm tomorrow. Don't expect the sun to come out to keep you warm, and bring sun-block.
Ling(22"), calicos and rockfishes for me. Didn't hear or see any buts get landed. Only till about 11:30 did things began to warm up.
Came in around 12:30. Low tide, little waves and the intervals were much longer than the morning. At the end of the stairs a woman was sun bathing. I don't understand why, that area smelled like dead animals and rotting kelp. Gross!
I thought about taking a pic of 2 kayakers landing, but the odds of them wiping out was small, so no pics.
