Hey Stickerguy!! I know where Leo Carillo is, but where is "Deep Hole". I have heard of it, but have no idea where it is. I'm a beginner kayak and can use the experience. Thanks!! Happy Holidays All, Cali Bear

From Leo you head up the coast toward Magu navel baseand it is out about 150 yards or so off the beach. I have made it there from Channel islands harbor in my little boat but with only one motor now I wouldn't attempt it.

It is a rather large sink hole in the ocean but difficult to find if you don't know what you are looking for.

I was going to fish that area on 1/1 until I heard the weather forecast. Bummed me out.

Easiest place to launch from Leo is go through the guard station in the camp ground thengo to the north beach(go under the PCH bridge) and follow the road to the parking lot. you can unload your yak 2 feet from the sand and the water is only about 20 yards from the parking. They will let you drop off your yak for free just tell the ranger and theyll give you a 15min pass. You can then drive back up to PCH and park after youve unloaded. There is a staircase that you can walk down fromPCH south of the nature center and its close. Iusually just slide my kayak down the stairs because the gate to the campground doesnt open until around 8 and then carry it a few yards to the sand.sandy beach no rocks even if the surf is overhead it is an easy launch because it is a shore break and breaks 20 yards from shore max.

its kind of a chore but the post fish equipment loading factor after paddling for 5+ hours makes it worth it.

If god plays nice then Ill be out... but it doesnt look good.
