Do they sell bait? I was there maybe a month or two ago and they had no bait to sell. Though I did load up a on a bunch of nice sized smelt next to the bait dock, sabiki tipped with squid. Too bad I was looking for the jumbo smelts for hoopin.

I've always known them to have bait, but maybe this time of year it is scarce. Did you get anything in the hoops?

Ha! ha! I made it after all. I saw Potto, shunky and yaksailor. NICE MEETING YOU all!!! Well it was my first time fishing so I brought 3 rods with me and a small plastic tray box with hooks and platics and some gulp bait. As I stated before I wasn't even ready for this trip so I just grabbed what ever was in my path out the garage. my 6lb. outfit had rotten line so That was a bonner rig and my other 2 set-up were 12 lb. set up. I rigged one up with a blam plastic and the other with a gulp berkely sandcrab for the surf. Tried fishing the break wall by the kiddy beach with no luck but the peolpe fishing that wall were getting some kind silver fish with looked like walleye perch. I headed out to the open harbor entrance to fish by the surf area facing the Rubber room from the beach side. The conditions seemed to be okay with the water slightly dirty because of all the dredging. I was about 25 yards from the beach and setting in a nice hole, 25ft. but nobody home. I tried swim baits and sandcrabs with a tip of orange gulp worm. No luck out there so I decided to head back in before the winds picked up. Nice ride home and learn alot about what I need to do for my next trip. Practice makes perfect. I'll be more prepared for my next trip. Had a blast like always and hope to do it again with you guys. OOH! saw creekster fishing from the rocks but he disappeared before I could paddle over to him. BOOYAA!

First I tried Arco Island @ 7 am today. The waves were small but it was pumping on the shore. Definitely a wet launch. Decided to load everything back up and head to CIH. Met BajaDave, SkunkMaster, Austin and John. There were a bunch of other kayakers out there also.

The sand has been building up. It is now to the point were they are bringing the drudging company to remove all the sand.

Fished a little then headed back home for some needed rest.
