launch early for sure, leo will be a zoo....

I am thinking about finally testing out the shoulder in a short paddle and fish session at CIH....maybe a trial run on pulling a hoop net as well.

John I may be game but was wondering. Do you guys carry your yaks down the staircase? Or is there an easier way that I don't know about?

Frank,
We park in the pay parking and roll our yak under the bridge. It's farther to walk than the stairs, but easier on your back!

John to save money, you might want to invest into 2 easier to carry kayaks. Austin is getting too big.

I heard that, for sure! Besides, I think I'm the one doing all the pedalling.

Dan, it looks like Saturday is the more likely day for me. I'll let you know.

Don't have a roller yet. I can lift and carry my yak but that sucker is heavy and that looks like a long haul. Hmmm??

Frank, Peter and I had no problems carrying our Extreme(ly heavy) yaks down the stairs solo. Stairs are gradual, not steep, and very short. Carry down unrigged and then bring the big tupperware bin down to load the gear. Or you can just drag it down....wood on plastic doesnt hurt.

Yeah, don't load the kayak. Carry it first down the stairs to the sand. Then load it. It will take you about 3 trips. Doesn't take long. The way I carried my extreme was on my shoulders. It weighs 85lbs with nothing in it.

John, on Dennis Spike's site, someone is trying to sell their T160. Maybe you should look into that. Nice boat.
