Another option is a collapsible net....I picked mine up from cabelas a couple years ago...I don't think I have taken it out once in the ocean, always sits in the hatch

Don't bring a net...that will ensure that you catch a huge toothy halibut!

You told me that happened to you, John. That is why you always carry a net now, and so do I. I don't catch Halibut anymore, but I have a net for the ones I don't catch.
