Im in possession of my new kayak thanks to Jeff "Rhyno" Krieger

I paddled VTA harbor Sat for 1.5 hours...........kept it mellow...no rods...

Sunday i fished inside the breakwall for an hour for no takers but got the feel of the kayak with Rod, Holders, etc....Casting from the kayak will take some addtl practice...

I cant wait to catch some bait then large fishies.....Malibu here I come..

Some pics..

p.s.- Anybody have accurate GPS #'s for the Deep Hole?? Wheres the best place to launch there? Any info would be appreciated...

those rhino bars are sweet. i just never got around to actually getting one. but they set up the essentials on the yak real nicely. when the thresher sharks start biting again. make sure you hire jeff as a guide. he knows his tish when it comes to the t sharks. one bit of advice about your sonar, set it to read only raw data. IOW turn off the fish-ID feature on it. if youre around kelp, it will mistake the bubbles in the kelp stems as baitfish. if you have the beeper on, it will just get real annoying. good luck with the new rig. it doesnt take long to get the hang of it. oh yah, and join tournaments as much as you can. you can learn so much from those. the techniques are pretty much the same as if you were on a boat. but you just have to modify it a little because you are in a constant sitting position. cant wait to hear about your first "sleigh ride"!

Hey Randy,

Nice Kayak!! Hope you get many many hours of fun with it! When you can get the time you should try Butterfly or Goleta as well. They are both great places to launch from. Thanks for the pictures and the report.
