Hey Dave,

Try to keep it simple, a nice handheld VHF by Standard Horizon model HX471S, has all the safety stuff you need, and an FM radio(safety+tunes). Landing net(must have an 18" opening or bigger),and a PFD are mandatory. Gaff is a must as well, I prefer a longer gaff, some like short ones. Check with Flipper, he has the Blue Prints for the most highly anticipated Kayak fishing gaff in the industry! Anchor should be a 5 lb. folding anchor, check them out at www.surftosummit.com, also look at their new GTS Airwave fishing seat, the best seat on the market! Check kayak sites for home made kayak wheels/carts or buy them. I have the old Apex folding cart, many to choose from.TLRhyno

Dave,

I have an NRS "Grizzly" suit and love it... It is plenty warm, very durable, and most importantly it has FRONT zippers. They have sizes for us "husky" guys, too.

NRS has some great stuff. I actually use just plane Paddle pants. I have the farmer john style wetsuit with front zipper, as well as a spring suit, but the paddle pants are great for our waters. I have some from my sponsor Extra Sport, they have velcro closures at waist and ankles, and stay fairly dry for most of my paddle outings. TL Rhyno

Extrasport, has a cool website,www.extrasport.com, pick up paddle pants at your local paddling retailer, check out online to. Not sure what Sport Chalet has in stock but they should be able to get them as well. TL Rhyno
