Dan, your #3 is probably the culprit. I can't see it, but if you're using a sink aerator, that's way too restrictive. No way can a bildge pump build up the 60psi-70psi back pressure that you get in your house. Try without it to find out. Also, you're gonna want an aerator that you can easily open up to clean out the eelgrass that will get past the intake filter.
Another point-to answer your other thread-put a screen box strainer(1/4" hardware cloth) over the drain of your tank. Otherwise, you'll be trying to pull out slippery 'chovies from the drain every 2 minutes. This will happen whether you have overflow holes or not. Just skip the overflow holes and put in a strainer. Hope this helps.

Dan, nice work! Any sardine would be happy to live it's last hours in there.
Just as I thought, the aerator you're using here is for a different application. Just look at the neck-down at the head. The water has to run through a couple of 1/8" dia holes, then a sprinkler. You need a bait tank aerator. I can show a pic later.

ODH,

I can use a new shower head. Don't throw that sprayhead away.
Right dere's your problem.

Like Fishhead mentioned, some sort of 90 degree elbow on the inside to get a good circular flow. There are a few items that can connect your tubing to the tank. I like the Attwood 90 degree 3/4" thru hull (tank) connector. You can then add a 3/4 elbow for the inside of the tank. There are a variety of other fittings and combinations which will work fine as well.

The shower head is your problem. They are rated at best of 2.5 GPM that is a little over 150 GPH. You have a 380 GPH pump, your killing it man. The Rule pump will push the water up more than 6 feet. I have a rule that I drop over the transom of my sailboat and it pushes the water up more than 6 feet whether underway or stopped. I use a spray bar from Bass pro shops 4 inches above the water to add airation. Although I agree for your application an angle might be better. A way to test this theory is to remove the spray head and test again to see what the water flow is.

Yep shower head as if I needed to chime in hehehe. Walmart sells the Atwood aerators for about 5 bucks and they work great.

well after working on the bait tank again yesterday i made the spary head i bought work. i took out 1 of the internal screens. i bore out the first hole to allow for more water flow and i also bore out some of the little holes in the spary head to allow for more water flow. seems to have done the trick. water is flowing good!
