Just ordered a float tube!!!

Soggyshoe and I each ordered a Fish Cat 4 float tube...great deal available on basspro.com (only $99). I have read good reviews on this tube and was considering getting it...seeing the sale tipped me over the edge.

We plan to fish the castiac lagoon alot, possibly pyramid, and possibly some harbors one day...

Now its time to rig them and purchase all needed accessories...here is what i have learned so far:

-i need a good set of fins

-breathable waders are the way to go (probably wont get waders for a while cause the lagoon is warm.

-ill need a pfd and rodholders.

Now, please impart your collective wisdom on tubing. Show me the light! What do i need to make this fun?

Thanks in advance

I'm new here, but I tube along with two buddies. I am OLD SCHOOL, still using my 10+ year old Bucks Bags Buckaroo and freezing my balls off in Mammoth Lakes area lakes at the end of trout season.

I haven't done much tubing this year though. I did hit The Castic Lagoon early this year and it was very windy which made it a pain to get around the Lagoon. Wore me out.

If you have a Fish Cat 4 I'd go with some nice Force Fins. They are pricey but worth it. I am in WAY better shape than my two buddies with Fish Cat 4's and Force Fins and they kill me in the water. I think that is a killer combo. My Buckaroo doesn't help, but my fins suck too. I'm holding out for either a pontoon boat or a kayak when I upgrade.
