Reverse 1.5 Day trip with Kent on the Silver Lining.....to the ever so Beautiful Catalina Island....

    6/3 & 6/4 on a multi day permit....

We didnt buy any squid from the light boats.....

    The Sport Fleet Struck Out.....

How do you think we did?? :D

Sorry folks...I forgot my camera at Kents House and had to go back and get it in Calabasas.... All is good now....

I was originally entered to fish the white sea bass tourney....then it was cancelled and rescheduled.... I didnt plan on fishing he rescheduled tourney nor did I plan on fishing cat this weekend...

Well....didnt enter the tourney and dont care 1 bit......We had a great time....

We departed San Pedro on Friday, made the 25 mile crossing and got out to a very unfamiliar island once again.....realizing how damn big it ...and how many boats are there....Insane!

this is the 4th trip on the skiff for us there.....1st this season....

We went with a plan.....followed it....did not deviate......

about 37 miles later we were at our destination....

decided to pass on getting squid from the carnage as he was a long distance from where we were headed at the time.....

We decided on an area just south of where the bites been.....

We had our flurries...... Ended with 4 white sea bass.... A couple teeners..a 25.8 and a 26..... Nothing huge.....But Fish and Chips for Lunch was oh so tastey.....and my pile of smoked Seabass is just killer!!!! Grub for days!

and....If you havent done it yet.....Releasing a Nice Fat 28-30lb Fish because your at Limit doesnt suck!!!! Feels almost as good as gaffing them....

and before anyone wants to step up and quack their mouth abour taking 4 fish....when the limits 1 each......we were on a multi day permit...Dont know what they are? Look them up, file them properly and get the stickered copy back from DFG.....best $5.25 ever spent.....

The right kind has hit the deck the last 3 trips.... Lets keep this rolling everyone!!!

Spill the beans buddy. The "fishing was good" is a dead giveaway. I know of a few PB's scored out there this weekend in the tourney...

Nice Randy!!!! What beautiful weather you had! Glad you got it done with all the traffic of two tourneys happening. Heard a 38.5 lb Halibut won the rod and reel tourney. Unconfirmed of course. Again nice job, headed to Cat this weekend, unless the weather cooperates here.

Would be a great place to plan a fishing flotilla weekend!

    and......and....and....

Hot Cheeseburgers and Ice Cold Ale on tap really taste good in Avalon just before the ride home.... The Catalina Wine Festival was this weekend...The place was hopping!
