    :lhdevil: :cool2: Aloha Everyone!!!

I realize I have been keeping a very low profile the last few months. Things have been very chaotic for the Pruner family, for sure....:uhoh:

The day after Christmas my family flew to Hawaii for a vacation and also to spread my Dad's ashes in Kona. (Pictures from that will be done in a different thread in a few days. It was an amazingly beautiful and wonderful tribute to my Dad!!!)
The day after the service, my brother took my two daughters and I out for a few hours of fishing on his 37 Merrit "Lady".

The day was awesome, the Kona weather held true to form and was flat, hot and gorgeous!!!! We started by speeding out to where we spread our Dad's ashes the day before and setup our trolling from there. We trolled out to one of the FAD bouys and on the way missed a shortbill spearfish strike.:dunno:

Once at the bouy, we tried to yo-yo jig some of the 10-20lb YFT that have been hanging around, but no joy on that. We then trolled the "king-kings" for the smaller YFT and skipjack (Aku) to put in the tuna tubes, just in case. Meagan started the action by catching her very first tuna ever, a scrappy little aku that she had a blast catching on the bait rod.

Cassie then got to catch her first ever YFT, although it was only maybe a 2 pounder, she had fun catching it. Both of these fish went into the tuna tubes.
We then left the bouy and started to troll to the south. My brother came down from the bridge and said "We will catch a marlin today, I can feel it." About five minutes later a marlin raised up on the short outrigger lure and inhaled the bait.:lhdevil: Cassie got into the chair and started working on the fish. It did not take her long to kick it's a** (80# trolling gear and an approximately 70# striped marlin :eyepopping: ). I had the honor of leadering and releasing the fish....Pretty awesome, I have not got to do that in a long-long time. (And it showed....)

We got the fish up on leader, it was all lit-up and beautiful... My brother Scotty stuck the tag and I was reviving it and pictures were being taken. When I released it, I had not taken the lure out of the water after I had unhooked it (Can you say ROOKIE mistake!!!:moon: ) and when the fish took off, we RE-hooked it in the tail....

This turned out to be okay, though. We then put 6 year old Meagan in the chair and she got to catch her first marlin as well!!!!:D

I bit later we had a very brave 10lb YFT eat a marlin lure in the blind, allowing Cassie to catch her 2nd YFT:dunno: .

Overall it was an awesome day and a great way to spend time with my daughters and my brother Scotty!!!!:cool2:

I am not as follically challenged as I used to be.... We may have to start thinking of a new name for me. Kojak does not really fit anymore. ;)

Randy, I will call you tonight, brother!!!!

I agree - Kojak needs another name.....This one has grey clouds....

Out with the old - In with the New - Especially with that long hair.....

I suggest the following Screen Name and Avatar....

Its 1/17/07 - Blue Skies Ahead

    New Screen name:
    PRUNER

    New Avatar
