And he really is fishing.
Here are a few of the targeted fish, Spanish Mackerel.
The last one is John trying to get a 40lb Spanish (narrowbanded) to go where he wants it to go. He can't go any further without falling in.
There are a couple more.
John with a Mulloway (crocker, I believe over there) and a Snapper.
The last one is the track that leads you to Steep Point, there is 3 hours of this.
A great picture of a Humpback Whale and Calf swimming right past us.

Wow! Those are some amazing pics! Thanks for posting these!
I've been watching LBG fishing in OZ for a few years. In many respects its very similar to what we do here, ie, high cliffs, rope gaffing, rugged terrain, big seas, etc.
The major difference is perhaps that OZ has many more suitable fishing spots then we have in South Africa, and there seems to be a lot more fish species to catch.
I have a Sister in law that lives in Adelaide and do hope to get there sometime and also do some fishing, but the distances to travel are so huge and I hate flying.
We have mostly souther right whales, with perhaps 10% Humpbacks. Taken earlier this year.
Your photographs are beautiful
